Mary Ann Hughes is an Evansville writer and journalist best known for her longtime work with The Message, the newspaper of the Catholic Diocese of Evansville.

As a staff writer and photographer for The Message, Hughes covered the people, churches, schools and events of the Diocese of Evansville for many years. Her work was also published in Catholic newspapers throughout Indiana.

After retiring from the newspaper’s staff, Hughes continued writing her “Grace Notes” column for The Message, sharing stories and reflections on faith, family and life in the Evansville community.
