More Than Just the Famous Names
One of the goals of Evansville.Wiki is to preserve local history that can easily disappear over time.
That means documenting not only Evansville’s most famous residents and landmarks, but also the people, places, organizations, and events that played meaningful roles in the community.
A longtime coach, local musician, historic restaurant, neighborhood landmark, former business, community leader, or memorable event may never receive a lengthy entry in a national encyclopedia.
That doesn’t mean the story isn’t worth preserving.

A Growing Encyclopedia
Evansville.Wiki is an ongoing project.
New entries are continually added, and existing entries may be expanded, corrected, or updated as additional information becomes available.
Whenever possible, information is developed using reliable historical records, publications, archives, public records, established reference materials, and other credible sources.
Because local history is constantly being rediscovered, no encyclopedia is ever truly finished.
