Ruth Miriam Siems (February 20, 1931 – November 13, 2005) was an American home economist and food inventor from Evansville, Indiana, best known as the key developer of Stove Top Stuffing.

Siems grew up in Evansville and graduated from Bosse High School in 1949 before earning a degree in home economics from Purdue University in 1953.

She spent more than three decades working for General Foods. In the early 1970s, Siems helped develop an instant stuffing that could be prepared on the stove, determining that the size and structure of the dried bread crumbs were critical to creating the proper texture. Her name appears first among the inventors on the patent for the product that became Stove Top Stuffing.

Siems later returned to Southwestern Indiana and lived in Newburgh, where she died in 2005 at age 74. Her creation became one of America’s best-known convenience foods and a Thanksgiving staple.
