John Hurley is the longtime head football coach at Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, Indiana. Hurley took over the Memorial football program in 2008 and has led the Tigers through one of the most successful periods in the program’s history.
Under Hurley, Memorial won the 2017 IHSAA Class 3A State Championship, defeating Brebeuf Jesuit for the school’s first football state title. Two years later, Memorial captured the 2019 Class 4A State Championship with a 21–3 victory over East Noble. The 2019 championship victory was also Hurley’s 100th career win.
Hurley has also guided Memorial to multiple sectional, regional and semi-state championships and several appearances in the IHSAA State Finals. He remains the Tigers’ head football coach as of the 2026 season.
